磯部寛樹(gt)、磯部直樹(ba)によるコンテンポラリージャズバンドInto the Nightのセカンドアルバムが2018年4月遂にリリース。

ドラマーには、これまで共演を重ねてきた手数王・菅沼孝三(dr)を迎え、ファーストアルバム以来育んできた、繊細かつ強力なサウンドを余すことなく発揮している。

多様な変拍子や、細かなフレーズの重なり合いによる緻密に作り込まれた楽曲と、精細でありながら時にフリーなインプロビゼーションにより、プログレッシブな世界観を表現している。


またセカンドアルバムでは前作からの様々な要素のミクスチャーという路線を更に推し進め、ロックやジャズに加え、クラシックギターの要素や、インプロビゼーショナルなアプローチ、クラシック音楽のアイデアなどを取り入れ、サウンドの幅を広げている。

「Life in the orient」「War elephant」ではゲストドラマーとして川口千里(dr)が参加し、Into the Nightオリジナル曲への参加に加え、師匠となる手数王・菅沼孝三(dr)とのツインドラムバトルも収録されている。
